Exploring the Nonphysical Dimension of Mind
Galileo Commission Presentation
Memory and Mind Emerging from the Growing Block Universe.
DNA cannot explain construction of our body or brain's four-dimensional complexity. Turning to modern physics, we find the Growing Block Universe is a compelling source. It holds the structure of our body, our conscious mind, and the extraordinarily complex innate behaviors of birds and bees.
The workings of our mind and memory remain a black hole of scientific understanding. Exactly how do images of past events reappear in our consciousness? No one knows. Conventional wisdom maintains that our brain acts like a computer and our memories are somehow imprinted in the brain’s neurons. But this purely material view is racked with challenges. In recall, might we be literally looking through time?
How does a woman remember what she did each day for the last 30 years? What builds a monarch butterfly's delicate body and directs its migration thousands of miles (km) to a remote spot in the mountains of Mexico? How does perceptual memory tell us the red orb in our hand is an apple that is good to eat? In total, memory is the unified structures of our body and mind.
The great physicist Erwin Schrodinger was so baffled by life’s fantastic organization he concluded it is a force ignored by modern science. To seek an answer, we turn to modern physics' perplexing multidimensional realm of the Growing Block Universe where the past never disappears. Is this the explanation of memory's chronological structures? Our quest takes us deep into the domain of the nonphysical Mind which manifests our waking and dream worlds. What powers might be revealed in its acknowledgement?
